The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports through the Department of Community Development, JAPEM in collaboration with the Brunei Muara District Office, Ministry of Home Affairs and Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, BIBD held a National Level Donation Presentation Ceremony for Orphans. It was held at Dar-Al Intisar Hall, Jerudong Sports Complex. 3,061 orphans registered under JAPEM received donations.

The presentation was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs as Chairman of BIBD Board of Directors and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. It coincided with the presentation of Excellent Student Encouragement Scheme donated by BIBD to 12 orphans who obtained outstanding results in the 'O' Level Examination; Brunei Higher Certificate of Religious Education; Brunei Religious Education Certificate; and, Last year's Primary School Assessment.

Meanwhile, orphan registration counters are also open for two days, starting on 25th February, at the Sports Hub, Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
